SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

  • White County Conservation District is offering a $350 scholarship opportunity for any senior with a minimum 2.0 GPA planning to  go into a conservation, agriculture, or environmental science. The winner of the local contest will go on to a state level competition which could qualify them for $1,000.  Applications are in the counselor’s office. 
  • The Ernest Whitelaw-Don Kinney Scholarship Awarded by The American Indian Center of Arkansas is available to any senior who has a CDIB card from a federally recognized tribe.  Applications available online at www.arindianctr.org.
  • Two scholarships offered for writing:

Two creative-writing scholarships will be offered for the first time this year by the Thea Foundation, a nonprofit based in North Little Rock. The scholarship competition is open to all high school students in Arkansas. The competition will award a $3,000 scholarship for first place and $2,000 for second place. The scholarships are one-time awards. There are no requirements of academic major, grade point average or test scores to enter. The deadline to submit an entry is Feb. 25. Students are to register online at theafoundation.org.

  • Anyone interested in going into engineering.  There is an application for a $2,000 scholarship in the counselor's office. Deadline March 31st.
  • If your parents are First Electric Customers you are eligible to apply for a Scholarship.  Applications in counselor's office. Deadline April 1st.
  • If you are planning to go into the field of public health please pick up the APHA $500 scholarship application in the counselor's office.
  • Seniors- Just a reminder.... If you haven't filled out the YOUniversal Application on adhe.edu you need to do so soon. If you need help please sign up to see Mrs. Hartsfield.
  • Cleburne County Extension Homemakers $500 Scholarship Application is available in Mrs. Hartsfield's office.  Eligibility:  Resident of Cleburne County for at least 6 months Enrolling in a course of study in the areas of Home Economics, Medical, Teaching or Agriculture Deadline:  March 15th
